Looks like a cool forum! For those who do not know me, I live Out-In-The-Middle-Of-Nowhere NE Washington. I shoot destination weddings around the world and never meet my brides beforehand. I set that up in AZ before I moved to WA, 4 years ago. I love this wedding industry! I also teach worldwide (just got back from London, S. Africa and heading this year to Norway, Greece and other teaching locations including many US states). I teach also at WPPI and SWPP (Europe’s equivalent to WPPI).

I hope I might be able to contribute articles to this Resource and I look forward to watching it grow. Looks like a cool place to hang!

Hey David it's good to see you. I really appreciate your work and what you've done for the industry.
Since I'll most likely be moving from the Seattle area to S. Idaho (lot's of small towns there!) I've got an idea for your first article... How to break into destination weddings! I'm guessing there are more than a couple people here who'd be interested to know some pointers on how to get started, what to avoid, what to be sure to do, etc., yours truly included.

Anyway, welcome to the forum and I hope you enjoy yourself here!

I will have to look into an article about that. Looks like I will be writing for this resource. Cool! I have decided to take on 'Deep Composition'. That seemed to be an area not yet filled. I could write for years on that subject and never finish it up!

S. Idaho is nice country. So is N. Idaho. I live close to the Idaho-Canada line.

Love it up here with 25 acres and a lake!

That sounds great! I just got the email this morning mentioning you as a new contributor. Looking forward to some great articles.

Yeah, I LOVE N. Idaho! We just spend a week there this last summer on Lake Coeur d'Alaine (sp?). I have some family up there in Bonners Ferry & Rathdrum, as well as a few friends in the Spokane area. My wife says she'd love to live on/around a lake. It's the next best thing to the Pacific Ocean. We're not too excited about land-locked again, but it will be great to be around family again!

Deep composition is something that I look forward to learning about. If you ever do an article on destination weddings let me know!

Cheers,
-Mark

Just did some great hiking in Bonners Ferry area. Nice! Way up there!

Lake property is cheaper up here than any place I have seen yet.

Looking forward to writing the compositional articles!

Hi David, welcome to PPR. I'm in southwest WA just outside of Portland. I'm too chicken to shoot weddings! Last wedding I attended in Portland on a rainy afternoon the church was so dark and the ceiling so high I almost had a heart attack trying to get some shots... lots of respect for wedding photogs everywhere.
