On-Line sales to guests - lets share what we know! 7 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 1
Hello all. I find that the best way of getting print sales at a wedding or event is to make prints on the spot. Slap them in a folder and you will sell. Most of my online print orders come from family portraits, not weddings. By the time that I get the photos ready and uploaded the guest have gone cold. It is hard just to get them to view the web site 1 week later.

George, If you're giving away extra CDs to the family then you're working against any reprint sales. Shooters that routinely burn CDs for the B/G will see little, if anything, in the way of reprint sales.

I've done pretty well with reprint sales. Suggest, as mentioned above, give a discount (mine is 20%) for the first two weeks the images are online and don't be afraid to set your prices on the high side. I've polled friends that list a 4x6 for around $5 that don't do as well as I do selling a 4x6 for $15. Also, I routinely use a backdrop at the reception and those portraits are always my best sellers.
