Yet another Copyright registration question 1 Year, 11 Months ago
Hi Carolyn,

Sorry, but I have another question as I am trying to catch up on my registrations. I understand that posting images to my website falls in a gray area in terms of whether they are considered "published" or not. My site was recently redesigned [by Chris here at PPR!] and I'd like to register the new design and all of its content images. I figured I would send the images in the appropriate folders along with the actual htm file for the site. I'm thinking that I would send the whole thing as published. Now, here is the second dilemma: I am still VERY far behind on my registrations and have thousands of images to register. Many of the images on my new site are among them, but they have obviously been edited and retouched. Is it possible to send two separate registrations--one for the "published" retouched website versions and one as unretouched originals as "unpublished," or do I need to go through all of the folders in my "To copyright office" folder and delete the ones that are on my website?

Many mahalos once again!

Steve

I'm so glad that you don't have to do that in Australia. Copyright is automatic and assumed. Phew!

Hi Cathy,

Copyright is automatic here too, but we have to register to get the full benefit of the law.
