Hi all!
i have a couple of questions about the model release forms. First thing, when someone signs a model release form are they ONLY giving me permission for that shoots photos? Second, what if they come back again and they take nudes? do they have to sign another one? or not? Do i have permission for any photo that i take of them? thanks you! your expert advice will be highly appreciated!

Model releases (depending on what the model release states) are to authorize how you may USE the photos taken at a photo shoot. If you have a second photo shoot, it's safest to get another model release (especially when dealing with nudes - BE SURE THAT THE MODEL IS OF ADULT AGE!).

Best,
Carolyn

Thanks Carolyn!

that is what i thought......better be safe than sorry right? lol. and yes i ALWAYS make sure that they are of age.....thanks for the info. should i put the shoot name? or how can i distinguish model release forms between shoots? for example should i put "Family portraits" for the family shoot and for the nude shoot put "nude shoot"? or does the date do it? thanks again for your response.

Use whatever system works for you - date? description? etc.

Best,
Carolyn

Key to any contract is a "meeting of the minds" between the parties of the contract, and a model release is a contract. If your subject understands and agrees to how you're going to use the photographs, there should be no reason for the two of you to stand before a judge and jury.
