hello everyone!

i was wondering if anyone knows how to restrict viewers that come to my website from "copying and pasting" photos to their own computers???? I've heard of being able to do that but i have no idea how. i recently had a model come to my studio to take her photos and she didnt by any prints or anything, so i put the photo up in my website. The next day the model told me that she had copied and pasted the photo to her computer. I was a little mad! I know that i need to watermark my images but what I'm looking for is when someone tries to right-click on a photo a message will pop up that says you can't do that. so anyways i want to avoid this kind of thing in the future! please help! thanks!

While you can make it more difficult to copy your photos from the web, there are no ways to completely prevent someone from taking them. The best way to protect your photos is to: educate your clients about what they can do, post copyright notices on each webpage, put watermarks on your photos that include a copyright notice, and register the copyrights with the US Copyright Office.

If you had required a decent sitting fee, what I'd say is at least 100 to 200 bananas, and a minimum purchase, which is one retouched image, then you would screen this type of client out.

Don't pick up the camera until they have paid up front and signed a release and copyright agreement and this will never happen again.

Is this a sales site like Collages or is it your portfolio site? The best way to protect I think is to use flash in your site. If you go to my site www.finelightstudios.com you will see the only way you could get one of the images is to do s screen shot which will look really bad obviously. My designer used Slide Show Pro to create the back end of my site.
