HI does any one have a contract for a portrait commission, as opposed to a contract for a wedding?

I want to make a contract that spells out my policies, like I offer one session of projected images in the creation fee, that they will make the final decisions there with nothing that leaves the studio like a proof sheet or CD of images and I don't post them on line.

I have a kit that I give people that spells this out and I go over it with everyone but at the time of the proof preview, they have forgotten it. And often it is the wife who came for the consultation but both husband and wife come for the viewing.

I'm going to make a contract with space for them to initial every keep point.

I'd like a contract that also spells out terms of payment, copyright and is a model release.

Most of my clients are really nice people but about once a year I get what I call the Client from Hell. It helps that I put all my policies in writing ahead of time and can point to them.

An I know a contract won't protect from the client from hell trying to push the limits.

But the more one communicates up front to everyone and gets them to agree ahead of time the easier it is.

I can write one but I thought I'd to look at what others have done as a starting point.

Has any one ever made or seen one like that? Any suggestions? Any experience with this?

I am not sure...but I think that the release has to be separate from any contract for services. It sounds more like you are talking about establishing your terms and conditions.

The model release can be part of the portrait contract. Check Tad Crawford's book - Business and Legal Forms for Photographers - for good contract forms.
