Shooting for Story: A New & Exciting Career! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Jim Garner

With WPPI now behind us, I want to share the key to our success.  We submitted 5 wedding albums and took 1st place, a 3rd place.  The remaining 3 albums placed in the top ten.  This placement confirmed to us that what we had learned the previous year was really something special.

I want to start this article by simply telling you a story.  A few years ago a very special couple came into our lives.  Emily and Marshall were so in love, they could hardly wait to get married.  This was such a special event, all weddings are, but these two REALLY wanted their day to come immediately.  At the time our photography business was shooting quite a few weddings.  We were volume focused and our delivery was either a simple album or a box of 4x6 proof prints along with the disc of images.  Emily & Marshall wanted more: an extraordinary storybook of the day.  Emily & Marshall’s wedding became the turning point of our career.
