I really dig this time of year. New faces. New friends and ShowIt makes for a great season. I had a mom in tears when I projected a slideshow created with David Jay's amazing program. It rocks baby.

Here's a couple of my favorites so far.

Aloha Dana!

Hey, I've been trying to research what type and brand of projectors are being used for showing previews without much luck...Are you shooting digital? If so, what kind of projector are you using, and are you able to show different sizes without moving the projector? I'd really appreciate whatever you can share with me on this.

Aloha & Mahalo,

Hey Stan,

I currently use an Epson S4. It's inexpensive, dependable, light and portable. There are plenty of LCD's out there that are better. This one works well for me because it transports easily when I do presentations for other sections (I'm working on my Craftsman). I have been looking at the Canon line for just studio presentations.

I guess it all comes down to: How are you going to use it? How much do you want to invest?

It does make an impression when your client can see the difference between a 30x40 and "one of those big 8x10's"

Dana, what software do you use to project a certain size?

Mahalo Dana!

Since I posted my querie about projectors, I received some more input. A photographer in Palm Beach FLA said the Mitsubishi XL9U was the way to go, and, Noellez, he said that Proselect software is the program to use. They offer a free trial to download, and looking at the site, www.timeexposure.com, it looks like the way to go.

I researched the Mitsubishi projector and contacted the local dealer. He said that better than the Mitsubishi was the Sanyo PLC-XU74. He said it's brighter and has more contrast. He's bringing it over tomorrow to demo it for me.

I'll let ya know how it goes!
