Has anyone entered print competitions before with PPA kinda judging? How do you prepare the prints? Are they different from regular prints for customers? If so, how are they different?

Thanks much!

PD

Hey PD,

Prints tend to be a bit darker for competition due to the bright lights that they are judged under. Overlays can play an important role too, but I've been out of it for a while. Check with your local chapter for more details.

Hi PD,

Stephan is correct about printing darker for the bright light of comp.
They also like the print to have a high gloss finish. and mounted on a 16X20 mount. Print only has to be 8X10 (80square inches).

http://www.ppa.com/i4a/pages/Index.cfm?pageID=521 has the rules you can download. Not very comprehensive in what helps to do well.
