I'm trying to help promote this new organization as much as I can.

www.thinkpinkphotography.org is an organization trying to link photographers and women undergoing treatment for breast cancer or women who have completed treatment within the past yr, to help document the struggles and celebrations.

Photogs give a complimentary sessions to women, and 20 small photos, and a discount on other prints if wanted.

Please check them out and you can see how many other photog in your state are listed. Join if you care. I can't wait to get started!

Paul, use their contact form, send your name and website. They will contact you within a week for confirmation, and then your welcome packet comes. They don't screen businesses first, it just takes them awhile to get people listed on the find a photographer page.

I am trying to get an appt with the dept head of our local Woman's Breast Health clinic, to talk to her.

thanks everybody. Get the word out, this can't be a bad thing.

I belong to another website, and these are some ideas I posted there. TPP encourages the photographer to give 20 small prints to the customer, but I think I am going to try something different with women who are end stage in the hospital.

I am also a nurse by trade, and have worked on the oncology unit, and worked with Hospice. I want to offer to the women, their partners and families to be photographed in the hospital, if she won't be going home. I know it sounds rather sad, but think how much a child or children would love to keep watching a DVD of their mom brushing their hair, or reading a story to them, or snuggling? I think this would mean so much to the family. The cost of a DVD is almost nothing, and the time spent creating it would mean so much. I'm sure if there was one specific image the family wanted to buy, they could.

Making a contact through hospice could be another really good source of clients, and a sesson like a "day in the life....." would be a good one.

I haven't had any luck getting an appt yet with the head of the Women's Br. clinic. Still trying on that one.

I know this is supposed to be a celebration of life, and if I could get healthy women, I'd love to shoot them too!
