I bought a new computer so now I'm in the painful process of reinstalling everything. I'm wondering if there is any easy way to get all my photoshop settings, presets, preferences to my new computer without having to reset up everything?

Thanks,

Erin

Not a real easy way but it can be done. If you have CS2, you'll have to use your original Preferences located in the Adobe Photoshop CS2 Prefs.psp folder and then replace them into the reinstalled Adobe Photoshop CS2 Prefs.psp folder.

For the Presets, go to Edit>Preset Manager and choose each preset you want. If it's brushes then Command (Ctrl-Win) click on each brush you want to save then once you have all the ones selected click on the Save Set button. Then name the set and click Save to the desktop or somewhere you'll remember. Then copy the ABR file (each preset will have a different extension) to the reinstalled Photoshop in the other computer. Then open Photoshop, open the Preset Manager and choose Load to load your brushes into the Brushes Preset Manager.

There not much of an easier way to do what you want that I know of.

I hope this helps.

Tony

Just a comment. After you reinstall and move everything, don't forget to deactivate your old copy (unless you plan on continuing to use that computer, as well).
