Sekonic Light Meter L-358 1 Year, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
I just purchased a Sekonic L-358 light meter. It works great, but I cannot match all my shutter speeds to my camera. My camera can produce a variety of shutter speeds, 100, 125, 160, etc, but the light meter can only produce a limited number of shutter speeds. It jumps from 125/sec to 250/sec with nothing in the middle of thos numbers like 160/per sec. I cannot see anything in the manual to show me how to create these missing f/stops.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I've got the same flashmeter and found I can sync at 1/200 but the meter gives me 1/125 or 1/250. So I pulled off the back battery cover and changed the dip switch settings on #3 and #4 to the ON position (which is pushed up away from the battery). The #1 and #2 are in the OFF position (closest to the battery). There are markings but give me a yell if it it doesn't work for you. I turned the power off to the meter first, adjusted these two dip switches and BOOM, I have 1/3 steps now--100, 125, 160, 200, 250, etc.

Thank you very much! I thought it was the switches, but I could never find the correct combination to give me the shutter settings. I really appreciate your help.

Sure go and make it easy and ruin the impending math lecture um...does this work on an old Minola V?

Haha... well dip switches are simple math, either 0 or 1 (off or on)

I'm guessing you were thinking of showing how to figure out the F-stop at 200 when the lightmeter jumps from 125 to 250....
