Hello,

I am looking to get a flash bracket to go with my 20d and 580 ex. I have never used one before. Does anyone have any recomendations or advice?

Custom Brackets will probably have something you'd like, just depends on how much you want to spend and how you want to work rotating the flash/camera combo.

Stroboframe

I use two, the Quickflip 350 which only flips the flash and Stroboframe Camera Flip Bracket. The first is a little over $40 the latter is a bit over $70 but you can probably find them both much cheaper at Ebay.

The one thing I don't like about either bracket is the way they hold the flash. I have broken my flash bracket before using the Camera Flip so make sure you don't swing the bracket down with any force.

I have always liked Justrite brackets. Gary is awesome and will take good care of you. Plus, the bracket stands off the ground/table. If you should be around a "spill" your camera is elevated. You've got to love that. www.justritebracket.com/Welcome.html I have used it for my Mamiya 645AF and Fuji S2. Currently with my Canon system I only use a Lightsphere; but if I bought a bracket this is what I would buy. Take a look at it and good luck.

Hi Nick,
Those look like really nice brackets. I don't personally use one as I have always found them heavy and clumsey but what i really like about these is the way the camera pivots inside the bracket to go Vertical instead of trying to adjust the bracket arm. Very Nice Design. They sure look awefully heavy though, I can hardly imagine having to carry that thing around all day

Thanks for the tip.

Cris...

I wouldn't mind using the Justrite's minus the flash bracket and stand on a tripod for nature photography. I don't get why the stand/feet? When do you put the camera on the floor or is meant to be a tabletop stand? The Stroboframe camera flip models also flip the camera inside the bracket.
