Yellowstone and Grand Teton 2 Years, 2 Months ago
I have to admit this publicly, I have never been to Yellowstone. Now I'm going to make my first trip next fall and spend about three weeks camping and shooting (just me and a dog). So, I need help in planning my itenerary, what are the must see places around these parks? Thanks, Don

Cris, I have 8 weeks off start after Labor Day so I'm thinking of going the last two weeks of Sept and the 1st week of Oct. Depending on weather and fall colors this could change but I can be flexible. We ought to see if anyone else is going to be there and plan to meet. Don

Hello Don

I think you will be amazed at the size of the Yellowstone area. If you are in the area you should visit Grand Teton NP as it is on the way when arriving from the south. Several must see locations in Yellowstone are, Old Faithfull Geyser at sunset, Yellowstone Falls in the AM light and Hayden Valley on a foggy morning. However the best Autumn color is found along the west slope of the Tetons.

We just moved to Thermopolis Wy in March. We went to Yellowstone and the Tetons this summer (my first time also). Incredible. I would love to meet up with a group. My husband is patient but he isn't a photographer - he would sit in the car and stop whenever I wanted so I could take pictures. It would be much funner if you were with people of the same mindset!
