How to understand and choose a lab? 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi Nick,

Thanks a lot for taking the time to respond. Frankly, I am embarrassed because I am sure many of my questions seemed silly to some but I am a very low volume photographer (I won't even try to call my self a studio).

Even though I don't do lots of volume I would still like to have samples of frames, album covers, proof books, and of course finsished mounted prints to show my clients. I know you said there is no free ride. How much business do I have to be doing per month to get a lab to provide sample product?

Best Regards,
G2

It really depends on the lab. Many offer "stock" freebie samples. However, all samples are more effective if it is your work.

Our lab offers a pretty substantial discount through July of every year on most everything we manufacture. Those are the slower months so it helps stimulate business for us and gets them new products to show and sell.

I hope this is helpful.
