How about mounting large inkjet prints 20x24 and up? Anyone have experience/suggestions? Different techniques?

Hi Craig,

The mounting technique would go hand in hand with the use of the print. Give me some more info here, Fine Art, corporate art, display graphics....

Hi John,
I should have been more specific. I suppose mounting techniques for all three. Mostly for fine art/portraits but commercial apps also. I have used in the past Crescent self mount adhesive boards. They work well.
I'm looking at a 30x40 printed I made with the new 9800 on Lustre paper and wondering how I'm going to hang it. I don't think hinge mounting from the top will allow it to really sit flat. Someone elsewhere suggested using Neoprene contact cement but who knows about the archival quality of the glue on the paper. Not sure I want to be messing around with glue or or for that matter even spray mount adhesive. So. I'm just fishing for ideas that anyone might have.

The only real criteria for mounting directly to board like Gator board or any lamination process would be to make sure it's cold mounted. Heat can destroy the pigments so very little heat if any should be used.

How much heat is too much for K3 inks? I know someone that has a large heat mournt press that opperates at 175 degrees. Prints stay in for five minutes. Too hot? If so, what long term effect does it have on the inks? There is no visible damage that it is causing you can see.

That's a good question. I know from experience that temps in the low 100's are ok but I'm not sure at what point you start to do damage. I'll try to dig around and see If I can find someone a bit more versed in lamination than me and get an answer.
