Has anyone on the forum tried using the Pantone Huey Monitor Color Correction System? If so are you happy with the results? Have you had any issues getting three distinct rings on upper grayscale target to match the 3 rings on the bottom half of the gray scale target? Even though my monitor has contrast and brightness adjust that go from 0 to 100 I still cannot get 3 distinct rings on the upper part of the grayscale target that match the 3 rings on the lower part of the target. My monitor also has color temp adjustment that allows me to set it on 6500k (which is what I believe Pantone and ShootSmarter recommends), User, and 9300K as well many other settings that can be adjusted but that I know nothing about and I really don't care to know about. If anyone uses this device I would appreciate any tips you might have, besides telling me to throw it away and buy the one that ShootSmarter suggest. I respect the ShootSmarter folks very much but I'm not in the position to fork out that kind of cash right now. Sorry but that's the way it is for me right now. Except for the occassional candid shot of the grandkids I never make my own prints so calibrating my monitor to my printer is not an issue. I just want to be able to get a reasonably good color correct print from the lab. I have noticed that many labs have a seperate print price for lab corrected color prints and studio corrected color prints with the latter being much less.
