I was wondering if someone could take me threw the steps of setting up a print for the final output. How you use the color profiles and everything. also turning off print management. I hope you understand what I am asking.
Thanks

Hey RK
Need some more details are you using a Mac or PC? Photoshop?
Also what kind of printer are you printing to? If it's an epson they use to have a great PDF on the setup process. I'll see if i can dig it up.

Either way it's not terribly difficult but there are a few things to watch out for.

Hey RK,
Ok it wasn't the Epson site it was actually the Brilliant Paper site that had this great walk through setup for using Photoshop and Epson Printers.

Go to http://www.brilliantpaper.com/brilliantdigital.html

once the page loads in the left hand margin you'll see some links to pdf's select your version of Photoshop and make sure you get the one one for the PC platform.

Just ignore that the references to the brilliant profiles and use your own for whatever specific paper you are using.

I hope this helps.

Aloha RK!

I feel your pain, bra! I print on an Epson 4000. In PS Print with Preview, you have lots of options to set. First, in the Print window, color handling option, click "let PS determine color". Make sure you have the printer profile set to the media you're using, and set rendering intent to Perceptual.

Then go to Page Setup. Click Printer. Your printer should be the default, but if not, select your 7600 then go to Properties. Select your media type, check Custom, then click Advanced. Set your print quality to 1440dpi, turn High Speed OFF, and here's where you turn OFF Printer Color Management.

Click OK on each window 'till you get back to Page Setup. Select your paper source (sheet or roll), then select paper size. If you're using roll paper, select User Defined, and set the dimensions. I always turn Expansion off, and set the cutter to normal. Click OK on out to print, and Print!

I hope this helps. Make sure your printer profile is set to the same as your media type! Otherwise the color will make you hurl! And if I forgot something...call Epson tech support! That's where I learned this stuff. They're very helpful.

Aloha,
SPC II
