Hang in there mate! It takes a lot to be a working pro, it's not easy. Marketing is the key. You need to get your stuff to the right people.

As with any business, it takes hard work, passion, dedication, marketing and plain good luck.I met my top client at a gig in which her boyfriend was the lead singer. I was doing a friend a favour (the owner of the club) by taking some shots for advertising. She saw my pics, loved them, we chatted and it's 3 years later I do all her work for her.

If you are going to work in the fashion industry you'll have to get used to being abused. Everybody thinks fashion is so cool and glamourous, but it's a cut throat nasty business. A fashion photographer is just a slave/puppet. Unless you have made a name like Nick Knight or Mario Testino, you'll be working for peanuts as well. At least Knight and Testino get paid well to be slaves.

Hi, guys!

Last week I was in Spain for Ujena Bikini Jam in Sitges. In the beginning of the week we had sun shine every day, so I've got a great use of using my panels. Here is an example of hard vs soft light using panels:
http://www.roberthammar.se/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/hardsoftlight.jpg

In the left picture I had no panel, and in the right we used one panel, see shadows on the sand.

(difficult to post pictures here now!?)

All my best

Robert

Thanks a lot, it's great to be back. I have been here after the update, but I find the forum hard to navigate, but I will learn.

Take care!

Robert
