I think you are being hard on yourself Robert. What did you envision that you think you missed?

Hi Robert.

The shots look really good and I agree that the window shot was a really hard shot to do. The light is casting one level of light, the window another, and the blue carpet is creating another level of contrast.

My goal for this photo would be to balance the effects of the various colors while making the two subject the center of the focal view. There are several ways you can do this that include B/W and soft focus rendering. For this one I tried several actions and hit on one that may work. I converted the image to sRGB and gave it a rustic charm look.

Frame it with a darker color at the top to keep the window from over powering that area and you get, IMHO, a very pleasing effect.

Thanks Richard. Cool that you find the post. It has gone nearly a year now since I took it. It so funny to look at my old pictures and compare them how I do them today. I'm still learning.

Steve, sure I do! I don't get so many customers here in Finland and what I can do is spend time on learning more about photography and Photoshop. I think I don't get any clients because I'm not good enough for them. I have enrolled for a new longer courses at Open College of the Arts in UK, it's an online course. Submited pictures to different competitions like at SWPP in UK. And what I learned from the competitions is that I need some extra in my photos to get better than "Deserving Of A Review (Above Average)".

And yes, I do some marketing too. I have an ad in a morning newspaper 3 times per week, ad in a wedding magazine and have had my pictures published in wedding magazines and fashion magazines. In October there will be an other wedding magazine.

Finland is a tough market for us foreigners.

I would be very happy if I was the wine company owner paying you to produce an image for a magazine. It sells the product to a tee, not so much the bride. Great image!
