Hi, I worked with a model today and we had a test shooting this evening. I checked the light and she checked what kind of poses will work with her. We will have a shooting when we have snow on the ground, but the snow might be an other problem

Please feel free to comment my work, what do you think, what can I improve to the real shooting? Your feedback means lot to me, thanks!

Ryan, thanks for asking.

Funny when you are asking I realize that I have set the main light on camera right in all pictures. I used a Canon flash on camera left on the first two pictures. And 2nd last picture I had two flashes in the background.

Robert,

It is hard to critique your work without knowing what was in your mind's eye before the shoot. You are doing a lot of testing which is great. How about posting your ideas about what you want to create before you shoot it...then post the results. It might be easier to tell if you were on the mark--at least from a technical point of view.

Thank you Steve for your comment.

I wanted to mix the ambient light with the flash light. It was after sunset so we had only street lights by the highway to work with. Did I pass the test, by mixing ambient light with studio flash light?

Robert,

Sorry for the delay in responding. You did get some of the ambient light. The small strobe is still a bit harsh [my tastes only]. Perhaps if you dragged the shutter more you would get more ambient and soften the contrast by lowering the ratio of strobe to ambient fill...
