Aloha Robert! I hope this means you're back in business with new equipment!
Shot looks good to me. Only thing that bothers me is the stuff on the table...reflections and, I don't know, dust, scratches? If you want the reflection of the bottle without the other stuff, place it on a piece of clear plexiglass with a black cloth underneath it...and make sure the plexi is clean and scratch free. If not, just place it on a black cloth for a really clean image.
Aloha,

Hi, Stan!

I've got Paul F Gero's old camera. I'm trying to improve my portfolio by adding better pictures. And your suggestion helps, thanks. I will work on an other shot, great suggestions.

I found a great russian photographers gallery which inspires me a lot, http://www.photo-is.com/gallery.php,
Check him out, he has some fantastic pictures. I wonder how he make the ice-pictures.

Aloha Hammar-man!

Wow...that guy's site takes FOREVER to load! I remember looking at it back when you suggested it, but didn't see any ice shots. I just tried to check it out again and ran out of patience waiting for it to load...

Most food photographers, or those shooting commercial stuff that has ice in it use the plastic ice cubes that you can buy from specialty stores. They don't melt, they float and look like real ice. Just add liquid and you have it!

Be well, Robert, and stay positive, brah!

I don't read a bit of Russian, but figured out fashion! He has some beautiful work in there! Thanks for posting it.

love your shot too, and it does look like scratches below the bottle.

This setup is to funny, one Canon Speedlite on camera right, and as a "softbox" I used an empty white plastic ice-cream box.

Best
