I don't think that I can write a whole article on this so I will tell you what I did. One of the larger local hospitals here was looking for some art, and I just happened to contact them around that time. I have to say this has been the biggest source of advertising for me and it was FREE. I did 15-18 framed pieces and hung them in the hallways around the rooms where the mothers "rest" after birth. The new mothers like to get up to stretch their legs and often take walks around the hospital. So essentially it is like I have my own private gallery where my patrons are all brand new moms. The hospital loves the prints so much that they have been hanging there consistently bringing me new clients for 2 years. I think you could take it to the next level and combine that with a post card with some of the prints you hang so they do not forget when they leave the hospital. I know Buckeye and a lot of labs are printing cheap press printed materials now.
Also another thing I do is volunteer with the
American Child Photographer Charity Guild and
Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep and I have gotten to know some of the nurses. So that is always nice as well that the nurses know who I am and can answer questions as well.
