Why is it that you do what you do?

Good thing to think about and put into words, Wes!
I have been an artist since I was able to hold a crayon! Hahahah! But seriously...I have been so into art all my life, and people have always been my favorite subjects. In 3rd grade I drew with colored pencils a book on human anatomy. Copied most of the pictures from the encyclopedia, but I've loved drawing and painting since a very early age.

I discovered photography in junior high school, and was totally hooked! I could walk up to any beautiful girl I saw and ask her to smile for me...and they would! Of course I would have my camera prominently displayed... (from looking at your site, Wes, I see that girls are a favorite of yours as well...)

So, I always wanted to be an artist, but never thought it would be a practical thing to try to do. You know...the "starving artist"...Starving never appealed to me. But while I worked mostly in sales most of my life, I continued to photograph people, and free lance as much as possible.

Finally the circumstances came together, and I took the proverbial leap to full time photographic artist in 1993.

So, why do I do this? Because I can! Because I love making beautiful images of people. Because of how my clients love what I do for them. And because the satisfaction I get from creating beautiful portraits, and the gratitude I get from my clients. Oh...and there is money involved, and fortunately business has continued to improve each year! So, again...I can!

ALOHA!
