Branding Your Business PDF Print E-mail
Written by Jasmine Star

I’ve recently had a conversation with a group of photographers and the crux of the dialogue focused on branding.  The idea of trying to brand your business in the most effective ways.  Different notions were tossed back and forth—as if we were playing verbal badminton—but it wasn’t until the conversation progressed that I realized the cornerstone of branding is this: Figuring out who YOU are and what YOU like.  It isn’t until this happens that you can brand your business.

A few days ago, I parlayed this information to another set of photographer friends and they concurred.  They know their style is heavily influenced by the music industry, specifically bands.  These photographers embrace their style and make it their own.

I recently underwent a major rebranding.  It was exciting, fun, and challenging—all the things that make me tick—but it was also one of the most nerve-wracking experiences because I had so many people telling me If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!  My branding had been working quite well for me, but I needed a change.  I wanted a change.
