Hi Steve

I own a 5D and a 20D and have a 16-35L lens, 50mm 1.8 lens and a Tamron 28-75 lens.

I have just assisted on a wedding and found that the 16-35 images are great (on 5D). The images taken with the Tamron on the 20D were pretty grotty if the light wasn't too good. In good lighting the images were okay.

I would like to get a longer lens (prime or zoom). Could you advise me on the best one to buy that would be most useful for wedding photography please?

Thanks
Abbe

Hi Abbe,

I'm sorry but I am not an expert on lenses. I've owned plenty of Tamron lenses in my early days, but not for digital, so I cannot comment. My general [and generally useless!] advice is to get the best glass that you can afford.
