Hi Steve, I am just curious. I feel like I have stumbled on a really wonderful resource here but it seems there is not much activity on this forum.

Hi Noellez,
Thanks and you are correct, we need folks like you to help stir things up a bit around here to get people talking. I'm hoping with the new no cost membership that we will be able to drive more people into our little community here and hopefully with the sheer numbers get more activity going in the forums.

If you missed our last newsletter we have a referral program going on right now, for every 5 people you refer to the site who sign up and use your Usernname as the Discount code when signing up will get a free Lifetime Gold Membership! They MUST use your username when signing up though that is the only way I have to track them.

Thanks again

Cris...

Thanks Chris, I'm glad I just wasn't being ignored like on some other forums. What I like so far about this one is the real talent that I see and I feel I can really learn. On other forums you seem to get lost in the cliques and drama. I am not about that at all.

I am having fun navigating the site and trying to take in all of the new information and yes theres plenty of that!

I'm really looking forward to trying out some of the techniques I have learned so far especially shooting with a strobe outside.

thanks again!!

Oh and yes I will gather some friends to join

Aloha Noellez,

I second what Cris said. We are here--ready to provide whatever insights we can--and to learn from all the forum members as well...This is your forum...the more that the members put into it the more they will get from it. Here's your chance: I need to put together my August column. What would you like to read about--almost anything goes--except TTL flash! I'll leave that to Paul and Stan!

Well I would love to hear in depth about shooting with strobes outside, what exactly do we meter? Different situations, sun, shade etc.

Hi Noellez,

I've covered this topic in several articles so far, but I can try to approach it with some of the specific concerns that you have. My second book Master Lighting Techniques for Outdoor and Location Digital Portrait Photography also covers the topic in detail.
