I've received literally hundreds of requests over the past several years asking about where to find a laptop stand. If you're like me, finding a place to put your laptop while shooting on location is a constant aggravation. I have to admit that my laptop has taken a tumble a time or two. Until now I've been unable to find a suitable solution.

At long last I've found a great laptop stand! The stand is perfect for location work when you need to stay tethered while shooting. It's being marketed to musicians who need a laptop stand on stage, but it's also a great solution for tethered location shooting. What's more, its light, portable, collapsable and only $49.

Here's the link:

The manufacturer is currently offering free shipping on this item--what a deal!

Hi Alan,

Great find!

Here's my solution to that same problem. It's basically made up of Manfrotto background support tube and two #35 clamps....parts I already had in the studio. It clamps directly to my tripod, or can be clamped to an Autopole.

Regards,
George

I bought a laptop stand off ebay that works quite well. The only thing I didn't like about it was the large pieces of velcro that need to be stuck on the bottom of the laptop. I didn't mind too much on my old Dell, but I haven't been able to do it to my shiny new MacBook Pro.

The one I bought is available with a tripod and a ball head, or you can buy the laptop tray and mouse pad by themselves.

How are the elastic straps on the one you bought Alan? It looks like they might get in the way of the keyboard or the touchpad.

Cheers,

Andrew
