Choosing best location? 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I have an opportunity to shoot a job that is different than usual because I get to scout and choose the location. Usually I have to deal with whatever space the interior designer has worked on, but this job is for the packaging of bedding products.

The client has asked me find a location that is clean, airy and "zen", with neutral colours. They will be providing all the bedding and accessories, I just need to find a nice space with a bed.

I haven't really thought much about this before, but what would be the ideal exposure for something like this if we want some nice natural light. I know southern or western exposures can be bright, but the light can also be very intense this time of year and can change dramatically through out the day. So would a northern exposure be better and easier to work with?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Cheers,

Andrew

Aloha!

Man! I can't believe you never got any reply to your question! Seems everybody is sleeping or on vacation....

Anyway, my input on your question...Since you seem to have carte blanch on the location for the shoot, (if it isn't already past...), I would have the client bring a bed and all the stuff they photographed to a nice beach somewhere. Set up a great big scrim as a canopy and set up the bed and stuff under the scrim. With white sand and blue ocean and waves in the background, what an inviting picture, eh!
